You tell “a” lie but “the” truth in many languages, partly because many lies exist but truth is rather more definite.

Is it definite though? Or was the idea that there is only one “truth” merely inherited and is that idea now just being dictated/reinforced by the language we use?

Place a mug at the centre of a square table and sit 4 people around it.
For one person, the handle is on the right. For another, the handle is on the left. One person doesn’t even see a handle.

There is the Truth, that the mug has a handle and its perceived orientation is dependent on the angle at which it is viewed. Each person can tell their truth which are subsets of the truth:
“The handle is on the right”
“The handle is on the left”
